Passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on July 14, the day after his 88th birthday. Beloved husband of Joy (Joyce), loving father of John and Wendy, father-in-law to Graham and Chris, loving grandad to Kevin, Darren and Laura, grandad Derek to Riley, Jessica, Emily, Hudson and Alfie. Funeral Service to be held on August 8, at 11.15 a.m. at Seven Hills Crematorium, Nacton. Flowers welcomed, but small posies only, or if desired, donations to Cancer Research UK do Michael Smy Funeral Directors, 441 Bramford Road, Ipswich. The family would like to particularly thank Dereks main carers Tracey Slade, Tracey Hunt, Paula, Kerry, Cathie and Will, who have looked after him for many years, with extra love and attention going above and beyond. Thanks to all staff and everyone who has looked after Derek, and those who he was very fond of (you know who you are). Grateful thanks also to the District and MacMillan nurses and DR. Matthew and DR. Flett and nurse Julie at Burlington Road Primary Care and to Brian and Sue and our neighbours. Sadly missed by us all. Rest in peace my love for ever and ever Joy.
