DAVID L WARD Age 82, of Maplewood, Minnesota. Passed quietly away at home on January 18th 2024, of heart failure exacerbated by Dementias. Preceded in death by parents Michael and Julia Ward, son Richard Jon Ward, and sister Cecelia (Ward) O'Hanlon. Survived by first wife and mother of their children, Diana (King) Gray of Ipswich, Betsy (Spofford) Ward his wife of 38 years, son Mark A. Ward of North Carolina, daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and Malcolm Ward-Ashton of Shotley, grandchildren Callum and Brooke Ward-Ashton and Megan and Adam Ward. David served 20 years in the USAF, serving 3 years at RAF Bentwaters near Ipswich where he married Diana King and were transferred to Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota where their 3 children were born. He retired 1980 from Plattsburgh AFB, in New York and began a 27 year career in Alcohol Treatment, gathering about him countless lifelong friends. Funeral Mass will be at Church of St. Peter in North St. Paul on March 15th and a Remembrance Gathering in New Yorks's Adirondack Park in late Summer or Fall.
