Roadworks have blocked one Ipswich road near a key route - but when will the disruption end?

On Saturday, UK Power Networks began work in St John's Road, at the junction with Cauldwell Hall Road.

As a result, the road, which connects traffic to Spring Road, has been closed.

According to One Network, UK Power Networks are carrying out utility repair and maintenance work.

It is expected that the work will not be completed until about 1.45am on Friday morning, meaning drivers will need to find other routes until then.

One local driver said: "There has been a steady stream of cars heading down Cauldwell hall road having to turn round having followed the diversion sign.

"To get onto Spring Road, I had to take the first road left on Freehold road - which was problematic due to parked vehicles and cars trying to come the other direction."

The work is happening at the same time as other significant roadworks across Suffolk that are impacting traffic and travel this week.
