A driver was spotted travelling the wrong way down the A14.
The A14 was closed in both directions between Great Blakenham and Claydon, near Ipswich, at about 7pm on Monday.
Police said the road was closed for safety reasons.
While the road was shut, a car was seen driving the wrong way down the eastbound carriageway.
The road has since reopened.
