The A14 was closed in both directions near Ipswich as emergency services dealt with a serious incident.
The air ambulance and other emergency services were called to the incident between junction 53 at Whitehouse and junction 55 at the Copdock Interchange on the westbound carriageway on Friday morning.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said officers were at the scene, but was unable to give any more information.
Posting on social media, National Highways said that the A14 eastbound was closed within junction 53 with traffic being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads and the westbound carriageway was closed between junction 55 to junction 53.
According to the AA Traffic Map there were severe delays in the area.
The road was back open by about 9am.
