Youngsters have been enjoying the amazing creations on display as part of a Lego exhibition in Ipswich.

The new Lego exhibition, located at The Hold near Ipswich Waterfront, has been opened for children and families to enjoy over the summer holidays.

The exhibition, titled 'Brick Wonders: Around the World in Lego bricks' and designed by artist Warren Elsmore, features many creations entirely made from Lego, from the International Space Station to the pyramids of Giza.

Suffolk County Council had said the exhibit is made of a total of about 500,000 bricks.

Felicity French, marketing and communications officer for Suffolk Archives, part of Suffolk County Council, said: “Over the summer we have lots of things for children, like craft things, and they can come and make things out of Lego.

"And we have some cinema stuff, like showing The Lego Movie. We're just trying to keep things low-cost and have fun and give people things to do over the summer holidays.”

Alongside the creations of the world there are also some Suffolk landmarks on display - such as Framlingham Castle, the Orwell Bridge and St Edmundsbury Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds.

Speaking previously, Philip Faircloth-Mutton, Suffolk County Council's member for environment, communities and equality said: “We are delighted to be able to bring this unique exhibition to a venue in Suffolk.

"Brick Wonders is a fantastic summer activity for families, Lego enthusiasts, and fans of ancient history, architecture, and social history.

"We encourage everyone to come and visit this exceptional exhibition."

The exhibition runs until Sunday, September 29.

Exhibition opening times are from 10am to 4pm on Monday to Friday, with late openings on Thursdays, and 10.30am and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets are £5 for adults, £4 for children and £14 for group tickets.
