Tim Lee Chinese Takeaway in Ipswich becomes health clinic

The former Tim Lee Chinese Takeaway in Bramford Lane in Ipswich has now become a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) clinic called YU Integrative Health.

Rebecca Chung has taken over the business, becoming the third generation of her family to do so, and wanted to offer something new in the area.

The takeaway was a well-loved business for more than 40 years and in 2002, an Australian man met his future wife while getting a chicken curry.

Following the passing of Rebecca's father, Michael in 2021, the takeaway was closed as the family took time to grieve.

Rebecca said: "Recently, we saw an opportunity to honour his memory by transforming the space and continuing to serve our community, albeit in a different capacity."

The space now offers alternative therapies specialising in orthopaedic issues, pain management and a variety of systemic concerns including digestive, respiratory, urinary and reproductive health.

Rebecca said: "Our approach at the clinic involved considering each person's environment, internal health and hereditary factors to create customised treatment plans tailored to individual needs.

"We offer a range of modalities such as acupuncture, fire cupping and more to support our patients on their healing journey.

"The community's response has been incredible with a surprising number of people showing interest in alternative therapies.

"We currently boast 37 five-star Google reviews, reflecting the positive experiences of our patients.

"Our mission is to support and enhance the health of our community, helping residents find relief from their discomforts through the wisdom and practices of Traditional Chinese Medicine."
