A woman from Ipswich was ordered to pay more than £1,800 after being caught driving with an inadequate tyre.
Danielle Corden, of Powling Road, was found driving a Ford Fiesta along the A14 without third party insurance on August 7 last year.
According to a court listing, it was also found that “the front offside wheel was fitted with a pneumatic tyre which had the ply or cord exposed”.
This is an offence under the Road Traffic Act 1988 and the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.
Corden, 39, pleaded guilty to both offences, and the case was dealt with by the single justice procedure, which deals with more minor cases not heard before a Crown Court.
For driving with exposed ply/cord, Corden was fined £486.
For driving without third party insurance, she was fined £729. She was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £486 towards victims’ services and court costs of £110.
This brings the amount Corden will have to pay to £1,811.
According to the listing, Corden’s licence will be endorsed with six penalty points, but she will not be disqualified from driving, due to the effect this would have on her employment.
