An Ipswich man has been told he is likely to be jailed for drugs offences next month.
On Monday, 35-year-old Shahad Miah appeared in the dock at Ipswich Crown Court.
Miah, of Nacton Crescent in the town, was facing charges of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession of criminal property.
The court heard that Miah had pleaded guilty to these offences in the magistrates’ court.
According to court documents, the charge of dealing cocaine took place between November 29 and 30 in 2022. Miah was found with 493.9g of the class A drug.
The criminal property refers to a quantity of cash found in Miah’s possession. He was found with £2,560 on November 30, 2022.
Miah expected to be sentenced for these offences on Monday. However, Recorder Jeremy Benson KC said that further work needed to be completed before sentencing could take place.
Recorder Benson granted Miah bail until his next hearing in September, with the condition that Miah will present himself to the police each week.
He told Miah that a custodial sentence seemed “inevitable”.
