Plans to convert a former solicitors into new homes has been submitted to Ipswich Borough Council.

The proposal would see 31-41 Elm Street, the former home of Gotelee Solicitors, converted into three one-bed flats.

If the plans were to go ahead, the ground floor of the property would become two studio flats with showers, whilst upstairs would be renovated into a one bedroom flat accessed by a staircase at the front of the building.

The site is located on the corner of Elm Street and Curriers Lane opposite Suffolk Magistrates' Court.

Consultations will now take place between the neighbours of the site, which include St Mary at the Elms church to the north-east and the Orthodox Church of St Cosmas and Damien to the south.

The plans were submitted on behalf of Star Plans, an Essex-based planning company.

Ipswich Borough Council will make a decision on the planning application in due course.
