A man has admitted assault and will be sentenced in November.
Before Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday (September 26) for a plea and trial preparation hearing was 21-year-old Alin Stefan of Buckingham Road, Leicester.
He admitted an offence of assault causing actual bodily harm which was committed on December 9 last year.
He pleaded not guilty to having a carjack in Norwich Road, Ipswich, as an offensive weapon on the same date and the prosecution said it was unlikely there would need to be a trial on this charge in view of the defendant’s guilty plea to assault.
The court heard that Stefan is said to have used a carjack to assault the victim in Norwich Road.
He will be sentenced on November 15 after a pre-sentence report has been prepared on him.
His co-defendant and father Nica Stefan, 42, of Wherstead Road, Ipswich, was unable to attend Thursday’s hearing as he is currently in Romania.
His case was adjourned until October 17 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
