A woman has been airlifted to hospital after she fell from a height near the A12.
Emergency services were called after concerns for the welfare of a woman near Marks Tey at about 10.25am on Wednesday.
The A12 was closed in both directions while emergency services attended the incident.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said they sent an ambulance, two rapid response vehicles, the Hazardous Area Response Team and the air ambulance to an area over the A12.
The spokesman added: "The patient fell from height and suffered serious injuries. She was transported by air to Addenbrookes Hospital for treatment.”
National Highways said traffic was being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads and there were delays of at least 40 minutes above normal travel time.
If you need urgent mental health support call NHS 111 and select option 2 or the Samaritans on 116 123. Both services are available 24 hours 7 days a week.
