More than 20 people from Suffolk have raised thousands for St Elizabeth Hospice by walking over red hot embers.
The brave "soles" crossed barefoot over a fiery five metre path on Friday, October 18 and raised over £10,000 for the hospice.
The event was held at Ipswich Rugby Club with participants undergoing 45 minutes of training before embarking on their challenge, described as like walking over hot sand.
James Fox-Golding, Events and Challenges Manager at the hospice, said: “Well done to all our brilliant fire walkers. You have raised a fantastic amount for the hospice and it was so lovely to join alongside supporters for what was a great evening.
“Every penny raised really will make a difference as we develop our care to support more patients, and their families, throughout east and mid Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney, during difficult times in their lives when care matters most.”
Two sessions were held on the day, from 3.30pm to 6pm and from 7pm to 9.30pm, with barbecue food on offer, courtesy of Ipswich Rugby Club.
A registration fee of £25 was paid to take part of the events and each of the participants were set a £100 fundraising goal.
This year's challenge was the second fire walk organised by the hospice, with the 2022 edition also raising £10,000.
St Elizabeth Hospice improves life for people in East & Mid Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney living with a progressive or life-limiting illness.
This year's challenge was sponsored by Drax, a renewable energy company engaged in production of power, biomass and sale of renewable energy to businesses.
