An Ipswich park is getting ready to be transformed into a winter spectacle - with workers turning up on site to start getting it ready.

Workers were seen in Holywells Park in Ipswich moving boxes and archways around ahead of the Illuminate Ipswich light trail later this month.

The trail is meant to last about 60 to 70 minutes in length and will allow visitors to look around all of the light installations in the park.

Organisers of the event said that Illuminate will "transform all aspects of the park into a winter spectacle".

Work started on Monday and it will continue over the next 10 days ahead of the light trail opening on Friday, November 29.

It will stay open for the next few weeks until Sunday, December 29, with tickets selling for peak times.

The trail will feature a food and drinks court half way into the course, where those attending can buy a selection of drinks, hot food and sweet treats.

There will also be a marshmallow toasting available and entertainment throughout, as well as sheltered and seating sections.
