A resident scared a would-be burglar out of their house after they arrived home in Needham Market.
The incident happened at an address in Foxglove Avenue at about 7pm on Tuesday, November 8.
A Suffolk police spokesman said the resident entered their home and realised someone was inside their property.
The homeowner disturbed the intruder, who fled the scene.
A short time after, four men in dark clothing, who were all wearing face coverings, described as being aged in their 20s and all about 6ft tall, were seen running along the road.
They all got in to a dark coloured five-door BMW, which drove away from Foxglove Avenue.
Nothing was stolen from the property in the incident.
Anyone with information related to the attempted burglary, or saw the suspect in the area at the time of the incident, is urged to contact Suffolk, quoting crime reference number 37/71338/22.
