Final plans for 14 homes in Belstead, near Ipswich, have been granted planning permission.
Roundwood Restorations' plans for an area of agricultural land east of Holly Lane recieved outline planning permission in 2019, with the finer details now approved by Babergh District Council.
Ward councillor for Belstead Jane Gould said: "Whilst recognising that more houses are needed to help people off the housing list and to obviate the need to split families up and place them in B&B accommodation, it is important that they are built in areas that have the local infrastructure for new residents.
"I’m pleased to see that this development has affordable houses and hope that it will allow house buyers at the bottom of the housing ladder to live in the village and to become part of the community."
The scheme also includes a number of affordable and starter homes.
Associate Director of KLH Architects, Ben Moore said: "The development of 14 new dwellings offers mix of properties which include first-time affordable homes and a varying size of family homes set across the spacious layout.
"To reduce impact on the existing road, the site is set back behind a new hedge frontage with a single access point off Grove Hill Road. It also benefits the village by providing a large area of public open space to the south-west, which will include a trim trail play area."
The planning officer's report for the project says: "The site looks to be utilising acceptable materials, creating an acceptable layout and providing a number of dwelling types and sizes."
