Five women are set to face their fears when they take to the skies to raise money for their friend's vital cancer treatment to prolong her life.
Kara Freeman will jump 13,000 ft from plane to ground when she faces her fears and skydives to raise money for her childhood friend, Electra Peart.
Miss Peart has been fighting bowel cancer since December 2021, and a fundraiser started last month to raise £35,000 was surpassed within days to help her get the treatment she needs in Japan.
Mrs Freeman and Electra have been friends since they were in high school together, with Mrs Freeman saying she wanted to do something to help her lifelong friend.
She said: "I can't stop this from happening to her or her children, but I wanted to do something to help prolong her life and get as much time as possible with her children as possible.
"I couldn't believe it when she told me.
"You never think these sorts of things are going to happen to someone you are close to.
"You can see how much everyone loves her by the fact the initial fundraiser has raised over £47,000, and that is all down to her compassion.
"We have been through a lot together, from failing to get into nightclubs when we were underage to her being at my wedding.
"She is very important to me."
Mrs Freeman and four other women, Suzie, her boss, and Angela, Debbie and Imke, all from her fitness group, will be taking the jump on April 2.
"I can't even walk on glass floors without shaking.
"I am honestly petrified of heights and Electra is amazed that I am doing it, but however scared I am, is nothing compared to what she is going through."
Mrs Freeman's work has planned a charity football match in June to help raise funds for Electra.
