A flood alert is in place for Ipswich and parts of the Suffolk coast today.
The Environment Agency has issued the alert for the areas surrounding the Orwell and Deben rivers for between 12.45pm and 2.45pm on Friday.
It means low-lying areas in Ipswich, Felixstowe, Wherstead, Mistley, Woodbridge and Waldringfield may be flooded during this period.
It comes after an emergency road closure was put in place in Bury St Edmunds this morning after it became flooded overnight.
People are being advised to avoid the waterfront at Pin Mill and The Strand under the Orwell Bridge.
People are being advised to stay away from risk areas and take care when next to the coast, rivers and marshland.
