A care provider in Ipswich has remained in breach of regulations despite a slight improvement since its last inspection from the CQC (Care Quality Commission).

Choices Healthcare in Princes Street was subject to a targeted inspection in March after the organisation was handed a Warning Notice following a visit in December.

Last year's report highlighted concerns surrounding the service's staffing, quality of care and safeguarding - with effectiveness and leadership rated 'requires improvement' and safety rated 'inadequate'.

Overall, the service was rated 'requires improvement' and was handed a notice after it was found to be in breach of regulation 17 (good governance).

The purpose of the latest visit was to follow up on the Warning Notice and to ensure improvements had been made.

Inspectors found "the provider had engaged with relevant partner agencies, was committed to developing the service, the level of risk had reduced and the specific concerns identified in the Warning Notice had been met."

However, the service remained in breach of regulation 17 "as progress to make all necessary improvements to their governance and oversight arrangements was ongoing and due to some personnel changes this had impacted on the delivery timescales."
