A rubbish fire could be seen for miles in Ipswich after eyewitnesses captured black smoke in the sky around the town's waterfront.
Fire crews were called to Slade Street yesterday (Sunday, May 28) at around 5.55pm to reports of a fire in a refuse area, not far from the town's Premier Inn.
Firefighters from Ipswich East and Princes Street fire stations were sent to the scene and used hose reel jets to put out the fire.
Ambulance and police also attended the scene but no injuries were reported.
They remained on scene until 6.38pm.
The circumstances around the fire are unknown at this time.
