Proposals for a new dog exercise field in a village outside of Ipswich have been given the green light.
LW Rolph & Son had applied to East Suffolk Council to convert the use of land off The Street in Little Bealings.
The field has historically been used for arable production, planning documents said.
The planning documents added: "A small wooden shelter will be erected near the access to the dog field to provide users with a place of refuge in poorer weather conditions.
"This will comprise a footprint of approximately 4m x 3m and built to reflect the style of a typical field shelter, common to many parts of the rural environment.
"The field will be open for use during daylight hours; therefore times will vary throughout the year with longer hours in summer months and shorter hours during winter."
Little Bealings Parish Council was opposed to the plans, saying the dog park would affect neighbouring properties.
However, East Suffolk Council gave the scheme the go-ahead despite the concerns from community leaders.
