Work has started at the site of a planned new McDonald's restaurant on the outskirts of Ipswich.
Workers have begun digging up parts of the Tesco car park at the Copdock Interchange, which is where the new McDonald's is expected to be built.
In July 2021, Babergh District Council, the local authority for the area, approved an application from the fast food chain to build a new restaurant in the car park off the A1214.

Planning documents submitted with the application revealed Tesco had completed an audit of its car park and determined it did not need that area for its customers, freeing up space for the new burger eatery.
A large section of the car park has been fenced off while the work takes place.
If the restaurant is built, it will be the sixth McDonald's restaurant in the Ipswich area.
Other fast food chains at the Copdock Interchange include Burger King, Costa Coffee and Tesco's in-store café.
McDonald's has been approached for a comment on the work starting at the site.
