Do you know this feeling when you and your friends go to a restaurant and when the waiter brings the dishes, you actually prefer their food rather than yours?
I have got a solution for you- I have recently found a place in Ipswich where you do not need to stick to your plate!
Last weekend Michael and I visited Good Inside Social, a restaurant opposite Christchurch Park that serves brunches and suppers that consist of dishes to share.
First of all, the interior of the venue is very welcoming.
I really like the design of the place, which links vintage furniture with beautiful paintings of mushrooms on green walls. Michael was actually mistaken for being one of the artists who decorated the venue!
But we are not here to talk about the design; let’s talk about the food, which is (be careful, spoiler) absolutely incredible!
We shared a number of snacks, including truffled potato terrine with parmesan and chives, as well as beetroot and confit garlic hummus with sourdough and almonds, and labneh with salt baked carrots, caraway and pistachios.
Michael does not like truffles, which was kindly accommodated by the chefs, and we received an additional portion without them.
We also got a selection of olives and spiced nuts, and very tender pork bellies, which were literally melting in your mouth.
I cannot tell you which starter was my favourite, as I loved every bite of them and was so happy that we were able to try so many different dishes.
The food was accompanied by cocktails, peachy bellini, bloody Mary and basil lemonade.
I went for peachy bellini, which was nice and fresh, while Michael chose a bloody Mary. Cocktails were served in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions.
It was definitely more difficult to pick the main dish, as they all sounded delicious.
We could choose from baked eggs with garlicky yogurt, chilli sauce, herbs and toasted bagel chips; rosemary beef cheek with potato terrine and poached egg; cashew cream cheese with salt-baked carrots and pickled cucumbers; herby English pea and curd mash on sourdough; bagel with confit tomatoes, streaky bacon and crispy fried egg or sesame bagel with crayfish, gochujang ginger mayo and dressed leaves.
I went for the bagel with crayfish, and I loved it. The bagel was crispy and perfectly complemented the filling, which was a bit spicy thanks to the gochujang ginger mayo. I can recommend this dish!
But Michael’s herby English pea and curd mash on sourdough with toasted hazelnut dukkah was even better. I could eat this dish literally every day, I swear.
It is totally worth giving it a try when you visit Good Inside Social.
I have to admit that I forgot to take a photo of the dessert as it looked so delicious, and we just went for it as soon as it appeared on our table!
But the waitresses were very nice and brought us another portion so I could show you this incredible vegan chocolate dessert.
It was just the perfect finish to our dining experience. The brunch costs £35 per person and is absolutely worth every penny.
I cannot rate this place any differently than five out of five stars.
We had such a wonderful time and tasted so many delicious dishes.
I am sure that Good Inside Social will become one of the must-visit places on the Ipswich culinary map.
I fully recommend this place to anybody who would like to try new things and just spend a nice time with family and friends. Is there anything better than sharing food with your loved ones?
