A new McDonald's restaurant on the outskirts of Ipswich will open early next year.
Babergh District Council approved for the fast food chain to build a restaurant in the car park of Tesco Extra at the Copdock Interchange for the A12 and A14 back in July of 2021.
Planning documents showed the supermarket had carried out an audit of its car park and decided that area of the car park was no longer needed.
Work has been carried out on the new site since earlier this year.
A large section of the car park has been fenced off while the work on the building takes place.
When the restaurant is built, it will be the sixth McDonald's restaurant in the Ipswich area.
A spokesman for McDonald's has confirmed the new eatery will open early next year.
Although an exact date is yet to be announced, the spokesman said it will open in late January or early February.
Other fast food chains at the Copdock Interchange include Burger King, Costa Coffee and Tesco's in-store café.
