Plans have been submitted to demolish several barns and build a small housing estate in their place in a village.
East Suffolk Council has received a number of proposals for the site off The Street in Little Bealings, north of Kesgrave and Martlesham and north-east of Ipswich.
The applications, which have been submitted separately, state the landowner wants to bring down several buildings at Grove Farm and replace them with a total of five new homes.
Planning documents said: "This proposal will result in the reduction of buildings on this area of land.
"It is proposed that all existing buildings including the large pole barn will be demolished and replaced with the five dwellings and garages.
"The proposed scheme is considered to be 'material betterment' for the site, that is better than the fall-back position of changing the use of the existing buildings to dwellings.
"It will provide a modest amount of housing growth for the village, will improve the site aesthetics generally, will have biodiversity and connectivity benefits in the area and will provide housing that is more energy efficient than converting the existing buildings."
