Plans have been submitted to convert a house of multiple occupation (HMO) into an Ofsted-registered children's home near Ipswich.
The HMO is in Witnesham, just north of Ipswich, and under the plans would see CF Social Work and CF Education take over the building for use as a residential children's home.
Their application states that it would offer children and young people the "experience of living in a small community without the additional pressures of urban life on their doorstep".
CF Social Work currently runs two other Ofsted-registered children's homes, and is looking to expand its offering.
This home would create jobs, with a minimum of two members of staff being on shift from the moment a child moves in – with the number potentially increasing if the child needs additional one-to-one support.
In addition, there will be a deputy manager within the home during office house and then the Ofsted-registered manager, who will oversee the home.
The plans show there will be seven rooms inside the home, with three on the ground floor, and four on the upper level.
The house would be equipped with three toilets, one downstairs and two upstairs, and an additional bathroom.
There will also be an open plan kitchen with a utility room.
Seven parking spaces will be available as well, with three spaces to the front of the building, and four to the rear.
East Suffolk Council will discuss the plans in due course.
