A man from Felixstowe was ordered to pay out more than £500 after being caught trying to get the train to Ipswich from London without a ticket.
The case against Martyn Dyke, of Garfield Road in Felixstowe, was heard in his absence at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on February 28.
The 26-year-old was charged with failing to produce a rail ticket or to give his name and address when asked by railway staff on September 8 last year, having boarded a train bound for Ipswich from Stratford.
He was fined £220 and ordered to pay compensation of £49, a surcharge to fund victim services of £88 and costs of £175 – an amount totalling £532.
