A Felixstowe man has been convicted of causing criminal damage to a window at a bar in Ipswich town centre.

Gavin Dighton, 44, of Crown Street in the east Suffolk town, appeared before Suffolk Magistrates' Court in Ipswich in March.

He was charged with causing criminal damage worth less than £5,000 after a window at Distilled Republik, in Tacket Street, was damaged.

The incident in question took place on Tuesday, March 12.

Dighton pleaded guilty to the charge and was ordered to pay compensation of £500 to the bar.

No order for costs was made due to the defendant's limited means and Dighton's guilty plea was taken into consideration.
