An Ipswich Town fan has decided to celebrate the club's promotion to the Premier League by getting a tattoo of "one of the club's greatest moments from the last 20 years."

Andy Cumbers, 47, decided he wanted to get some ink to remember the moment Jeremy Sarmiento scored against Southampton to win the game in the added time on Easter Monday.

The tattoo features the words spoken by BBC Radio Suffolk commentator Brenner Woolley along with an outline of Town star Conor Chaplin, who was on the bench at the time of the goal but ran across the pitch to join in with the chaotic celebrations.

The design is based off one by Dan Thomas, director of graphic design company Come Hither Design.

Mr Cumbers said: "I'm a huge fan of the club.

"I was looking for something to go on the side of my torso, and that particular moment, was right up there as one of the greatest moments in the last 20 years, and with promotion being cemented I wanted a tattoo to tribute to the season.

"It was just a fantastic moment, a collective one of joy."

Mr Cumbers, who lived in Portsmouth for 20 years due to being in the Navy, said that Mr Woolley's commentary was always a link for him to stay close to the club.

He would regularly travel to Portman Road from Portsmouth with other members of the South Coast Tractor Boys group.

He posted his tattoo on social media, gaining a lot of reaction from Town fans.

This included Chaplin himself, who responded with: "Incredible memory, for life now."

Overall, Mr Cumbers' tweet has been seen almost 120,000 times.

He added: "It's been fairytale stuff this season.

"Brenner's words captured the moment superbly."

Other Town fans thought they would celebrate promotion with tattoos, including one fan who got "Cameron Burgess 15" on his leg, and Town's CEO Mark Ashton sticking to his promise of getting the Suffolk Punch horse on his wrist.
