A 55-year-old man with 123 previous convictions has admitted robbery at the Dunelm store in Ipswich and an attempted theft at an off licence.

Before Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday for a plea hearing was Mark Ely of Milton Street, Ipswich.

He admitted robbery at the Dunelm Store in Bury Road, Ipswich, on November 19 last year.

He also admitted attempted theft from the Premier Store in Reynolds Road, Ipswich, on December 21 and threatening a member of staff with a multi-tool with a knife blade.

Sentence was adjourned for a pre-sentence report.
