An Ipswich woman who used stolen bank cards to make purchases totalling more than £75 has been sentenced.

Abby Flahant, of London Road, appeared before Suffolk Magistrates' Court in Ipswich having been charged with two counts of fraud by false representation.

The first charge related to the use of a stolen Barclays bank card being used to make a £25.30 purchase on August 22 in Ipswich.

The second charge, relating to September 18, was for £52.40 being spent on a stolen bank card, also in Ipswich.

Flahant, 36, was convicted of both offences.

She was told by magistrates at the court to pay £50 in compensation for the use of the bank cards.

Flahant was also handed a community order for a period of 12 months and told to comply with the instructions of a responsible officer for that period of time.

Breaching a community order can result in a defendant having their sentence increased or being re-sentenced.

The defendant was also fitted with an electronic tag, according to a court listing.
