An Ipswich homeowner has applied to the council for her plans to convert a home garage into a site for her sports therapy business.
Ipswich sports therapist Wendy Atkinson applied to Ipswich Borough Council for the conversion in Ludlow Close back in 2022.
The plans included the brick garage, currently used for storage, to be turned into a treatment room for the business, work that included insulating the inside and creating a wet room by adding a sink and shower to the existing toilet.
The original application was approved in November 2022 for the 45 sq m garage, and work was completed and signed off in March 2023, with the business running from the treatment room.
A new application was received last week, and validated on Wednesday, to vary the opening hour conditions.
The previous application was based on working in "Covid safe conditions at the time", and with the cost of living increase, the business owner would like to increase her working hours to five days a week instead of three.
Ms Atkinson specialises in diagnosing, treating, and the rehabilitation of sports injuries and sports massage treatments.
