A 22-year-old from Ipswich is part of a historic first claiming a podium place at a national championship.
Lydia Walmsley has been racing since she was 14, having lived near Foxhall Stadium and seen her father race since she was a child.
Last weekend, she made history as she finished third in the Mini Challenge JCW Championship in Snetterton, Norfolk.
Her success made her the first female driver to stand on the podium at the competition.
Not only this, but she did it with a smaller team, having just family members and friends as her backroom team, with her dad and a family friend as mechanics and her mum as backroom support.
Lydia races under her own team name Lydia Walmsley Racing, which is considerably different to other competitors in the JCW Driver's Championships.
She said: "I didn't really think about being the first female on the podium, because I am just another racing driver.
"It's a huge accolade though, but I was just happy to be on the podium.
"Because we are a family-run team, it makes it feel even more special, especially when we are competing against teams which have 11 cars and a far bigger budget.
"I've got an amazing array of partners and sponsors as well, who help get me on the track, but that is it.
"It's unheard of really."
Lydia has thanked all of her sponsors and partners who have helped fund her in the sport.
She said: "Without each and every sponsor, I wouldn't be on the track let alone managing a podium finish, so I want to say a big thank you to them."
Lydia's next race will be at Oulton Park in Cheshire towards the end of the month.
