A 49-year-old woman from Ipswich has denied being in control of a dangerous dog that injured two people last summer.

Joanne Robinson, of Hayman Road, appeared before Suffolk Magistrates’ Court over the charge relating to an alleged dog attack on July 11 last year.

She is accused of being the owner of a chocolate coloured American XL Bulldog named Rocko which was said to be dangerously out of control on Nacton Shores.

The dog was said to have injured two people.

The 49-year-old entered a plea of not guilty during the hearing on Monday.

Prosecutor Stuart Cowen said one of the alleged victims managed to restrain the dog, which was destroyed shortly after.

Robinson is due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on July 1 and was released on unconditional bail.
