Next weekend free live music will be performed in Ipswich town centre as part of a festival.

On Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15, a huge stage, food vendors and an Adnams truck will be present on the Cornhill, showcasing live music.

The stage, due to go up on Thursday evening, is one of the locations for the Brighten the Corners Festival, with other locations including The Smokehouse, The Baths, Corn Exchange and St Stephen's Church.

The difference with the Cornhill stage, however, is that it is free for anyone to enjoy the performances of those on stage.

Music kicks off at 2.40pm on Friday, June 14 on the Cornhill stage with the Apply to Play winners, with Sophiethegreat getting the festival started.

Adnams will be present with its beer truck serving refreshments, as well as a special lager created in partnership between Brighten the Corners and Adnams.

Last year, the festival was nominated for Best Small Festival of the Year award.

Tickets are still available for the other locations in the town hosting music over the weekend.
