Five teenage boys have been bailed and a woman has been released after a fight in Ipswich left two people in hospital.

Officers were called to Duke Street by Ipswich Waterfront at about 10.30pm on Sunday to reports of a fight involving a group of men.

A spokesman for Suffolk police said when officers arrived the group had dispersed.

A man in his 20s was found having suffered head and facial injuries and a teenage boy was discovered suffering from an injury to his hand.

Both were taken to hospital due to their injuries and it has been confirmed the boy has been discharged. 

Six people were arrested in connection with the incident.

Suffolk police has now confirmed that five teenage boys, between the ages of 16 and 17 years old, have been released on bail, pending further inquiries.

An officer also confirmed that the sixth person arrested was a woman in her 20s.

She was released without charge and will face no further police action at this time.
