Drivers were facing long delays on the A14 near Ipswich this morning.
Traffic came a standstill in the eastbound carriageway between Copdock and the Orwell Bridge.
Eye witnesses reported a broken down vehicle was causing the delays.
It came after police were called to a crash on the A14 near Ipswich at about 6.05am on Wednesday.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk police confirmed the eastbound carriageway was fully reopened after the crash at 7.15am.
According to the AA Traffic Map the broken down vehicle was causing delays of around 15 minutes in the area.
