Two Ipswich women have been fined after they were found guilty over animal welfare concerns for a guinea pig.
Chantelle Slinn, 29, of George Street, and Sophie Egan, 27, of Shenstone Drive, had denied animal welfare charges when they appeared at Suffolk Magistrates' Court in Ipswich.
The pair were both charged with two counts of failing to ensure the welfare of an animal while being the person responsible.
They were found guilty in relation to one offence and cleared of another.
A court listing said the charges they were convicted of were in relation to a guinea pig being thrown out of a window, failing to meet its need to be protected from pain, suffering, injury and disease by failing to provide adequate care and supervision.
Both defendants were told to pay £300 in a fine, £300 in costs and a victim surcharge of £120 - making the total they have to pay out £720.
An order was made to collect the sums from their benefits, a court listing said.
