Tributes have been paid to an "amazing doctor who changed the lives of many" after a body was discovered in the search for a 56-year-old man.
Ramaswamy Jayaram was reported missing on Sunday, June 30 after he was last seen in Ipswich at around 5.30am that day.
Police searches had been taking place in the area surrounding Ravenswood and Orwell Country Park, where he was last seen.
Mr Jayaram's car, a grey Citroen C1, was found in the area during the search conducted alongside Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue and HM Coastguard.
Members of the public living in the area also took part in the search.
On Wednesday, July 3, a member of the public alerted police after discovering a body in Braziers Wood.
While formal identification is yet to take place, police said Mr Jayaram's family were informed of the discovery.
Former colleagues Hayley Bradford and Lyn Clements led tributes to Mr Jayaram and shared condolences.
Ms Bradford said: "Rest in peace now Dr Jay. My thoughts go out to his family and colleagues, he was one of the most wonderful doctors.
"Rest in peace Dr Jay, you will be missed by so many. My sincere condolences go out to his family."
Offering condolences to his wife and children, family friend Katrina Cruz said: "So sorry to hear the sad news.
"I have known Jay and his wife for a fair few years, they have two beautiful girls. Rest in peace Ramaswamy."
In another tribute, Ciarán Kilgannon said: "So sad to hear this news.
"You were a great doctor that changed the lives of so many people. You will be so missed by your colleagues and wonderful wife and children.
"Thank you for the times we had our chats and always checking in on people."
