Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a "devoted husband" and "loyal" Ipswich Town fan who died in a crash on the A14.
Kevin Doherty, 44, from Somersham, died on Tuesday, June 4 after his motorcycle collided with a car and a lorry on the A14 near Sproughton, outside Ipswich.
Police were called to the scene at about 5.40pm to the westbound carriageway between junctions 54 and 53.
Mr Doherty, known to his family as Kev, died at the scene shortly after.
A statement from his wife, Toni, and the rest of the family said: “Kev was the much loved and hugely missed husband to Toni, a proud father of three children and loving grandson, son, brother and uncle.
“Kev was a loyal Ipswich Town FC fan and enjoyed many highs, and suffered many lows, throughout his time supporting the Blues. He was extremely excited to see them back in the Premier League and seeing some matches with his family.
“He was a homebody who took joy in the simple things; a family walk taking photos of the local scenery, trips to the beach to hunt for sharks’ teeth with the children or for chips and an ice cream."
The statement added: “He had a dark sense of humour and a quick, dry wit and a while he was a private man, he was a sentimental softie at heart, fiercely protective of his family and friends, of which he had many and he will be missed by them all.
“Kev’s death has shocked us all and as a family, we take it day by day to adjust to this new normal without him. We will miss him every day but treasure the memories we were lucky enough to make with him.”
His parents added a statement, saying: “Kevin, who liked to be known as Kev, was the beloved son to Wendy and Graham, loving brother to Darren and Laura and much loved first grandchild to Joyce.
"Kev was a devoted husband to Toni, a loving father of two sons and a daughter and doting uncle to four nieces and a nephew. Kevin was loved dearly by all his family, and we will forever cherish the memories we have.
They added: “He grew up in the Stoke Park area of Ipswich, attending Halifax Primary and Stoke High School. Kev and his siblings were very close growing up, doing everything together and the family have fond memories, particularly of the family holidays that they took together.
“His passing has left a void in our family and our hearts that can never be filled. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.”
