Plans have been submitted for an historic grade II-listed building in Ipswich town centre to be converted into three flats, returning the building to its original use.
The building, which is situated in Lower Brook Street, currently has permission to be used as offices.
The house, which is the only remaining building of a terrace of 10 early 19th century houses, is surrounded by residential properties and offices.
The proposed change of use will return the building to its original built purpose.
The three flats would be similar in size, all benefitting from and open plan kitchen and dining area, double bedroom, shower room and one of them, the first floor flat, would have a separate study.
The planning statement states that the reinstatement of the "historic residential use of this building will support the maintenance and continued long-term viability of this building" and the proposal would result in "less than substantial harm to the listed building and would enhance the character and reintroduce original features which have been lost".
Ipswich Borough Council will discuss the plans in due course.
