From the closure of a shop to a price increase at the theatre, here are five changes happening in Ipswich this summer.

1. Caudwell Hall Road East of England Co-Op

The East of England Co-Op store in Caudwell Hall is closing on August 31 due to changes within the business. 

A notice to customers said: "Our business is going through a portfolio reshape, opening new stores and refurbishing existing ones, as well as consolidating and closing some locations."

The post office which operates inside the store will also be closing at the end of next month.

2. Portman Road

Work continues on upgrades to Portman Road stadium ahead of the start of the Premier League. 

Ipswich Town's first home match on their return to the Premier League will be against Liverpool on Saturday, August 17. 

The upgrades include safe standing in the Upper Cobbald stand and new camera points around the stadium.

3. Fore Hamlet

The closure is in place to support work by Cadent on Duke Street which started on July 8. 

The works being carried out include major gas replacement works which are expected to be completed by mid September. 

4. Ipswich Regent Theatre

A 20p restoration levy will be added to tickets above £10 to ensure there is enough funding for the proposed revamp. 

The charge will be added to the existing £1.50 levy from August 5.

5. Hullabaloo

In June current owners Jennie Debenham and John Halls would be closing Hullabaloo to "devote time to a new vision and our family".

Team member Flynn Squirrell and his family will take over the premises in August with a reopening date planned in September with the business being renamed Harvest Moon.
