A key road south of Ipswich, which runs under the Orwell Bridge, will be closed later this month for urgent repairs.
The Strand B1456, which connects Woolverstone and Shotley to Ipswich and the A14, will be closed between 6.30pm on Wednesday, September 11 and 6am on Thursday, September 12.
While the road is closed, an 11-mile diversion route will be in place which is expected to add about 20 minutes to people's journeys.
The diversion route will take drivers along the A137, Stutton Road, Manningtree Road, Holbrook Road, Primrose Hill, the B1080 and B1456 and vice versa.
Anglian Water will be carrying out works while the road is closed, the water supplier has confirmed.
Earlier this year, the road was closed for two days while Anglian Water carried out maintenance repairs.
Drivers have been advised to avoid the area south of Ipswich while the road is shut and seek alternative routes.
