An Ipswich school that caught fire last night is expected to reopen tomorrow.
Fire crews were called to The Beeches Community Primary School in Shakespeare Road at 9.45pm on Tuesday.
The fire on the roof of the building in Shakespeare Road is believed to have involved some solar panels.
A statement on the school's website confirmed that the school would be closed on Wednesday to allow a safety assessment to be carried out.
Later on Wednesday morning the school updated the website with a follow up statement that reads: "Thank you to all families for your understanding following the fire at The Beeches last night. We are pleased to report that there is no internal damage to the school at all.
"We are currently conducting safety checks to ensure that the building is completely safe and at this stage we expect to be able to open the school to all pupils tomorrow, Thursday 5th September, as normal. Confirmation will be posted here later today.
