Three days of resurfacing works on an Ipswich road have been rescheduled as Suffolk Highways warn drivers against parking in 'no parking' zones.

Lyndhurst Avenue in east Ipswich will close from 8am until 6pm between October 1 and October 3 for resurfacing works.

Suffolk Highways says the works were initially expected to take place in August but the works were postponed.

A short diversion route will be in place via Heath Road, Foxhall Road and vice versa.

In a post on social media a spokesman added: "To enable us to successfully resurface the road, please ensure you move your vehicle from the area highlighted by 'no parking' cones."

This comes after resurfacing works at Darwin Road were recently delayed due to people parking in the street.

Suffolk Highways have now also warned drivers against parking in no-parking zones of roads undergoing resurfacing works.

In a post on social media they said: "Not only does this mean we are unable to complete the works, but it also affects the remaining sites on the resurfacing programme. It may also mean that some schemes have to be cancelled."
