One of three chosen Ipswich schools could win a £5,000 grant for a better start, if shoppers find the golden token.
The Tesco customers that find the token will be able to choose one of three chosen local schools or children's groups to receive a £5,000 Golden Grant to spend.
The initiative is part of Tesco's Stronger Starts campaign. Shoppers in the Copdock Interchange store can take a lucky dip between 12pm and 1pm to search for a gold version of Tesco's famous blue voting token.
The grant is aimed at schools to help fund equipment, healthy food or to "give children a stronger start in life."
Claire De Silva, Tesco head of communities, said: “Schools and local projects are vital in supporting our children and our communities.
"We’re giving customers the chance to make a difference to a school or group that’s doing amazing work on their doorstep.”
The golden grants scheme runs twice a year, the programme is worth £8 million and partners with Groundwork UK, a charity that supports local communities and businesses.
