An Ipswich man has been jailed for stealing more than £200 worth of steak from Marks and Spencer.
Philip Spicer appeared before Suffolk Magistrates’ Court in August facing three counts of theft.
The 54-year-old had been charged with stealing steaks from Marks and Spencer store in Westgate Street on August 7, an amount of meat totalling £232.
He was also charged with stealing “body products” of an unknown value from the Savers store in Ipswich on the same day.
Spicer was facing a third charge of theft, having been accused of stealing alcohol valued at £84, again from Marks and Spencer, three days previously on August 4.
Spicer, of Tavern Street, pleaded guilty to all three offences.
This guilty plea was taken into account, and he was sentenced to eight weeks imprisonment for all three offences.
