Museum-goers could have a chance to take a look at the life of a famous Ipswich deportee at The Hold.
Ipswich Borough Council has approved the application made by Suffolk Archives to loan 14 objects from Ipswich Museum's collection.
All of these items are of Margaret Catchpole, a servant and chronicler, in whose honour the town has seen a pub and bowls club named after her.
The items will be a part of a display of Crime and Punishment from October 25, 2025 to Janurary 18, 2026.
The exhibition is in its early planning stages but will focus on themes such as transportation, the justice system and crime prevention.
Ms Catchpole's story will also be made a part of it and include how she served the Cobbold family in Ipswich.
She was arrested for stealing a horse and escaping Ipswich Jail before being transported to Australia.
The exhibition will highlight her experiences and bring together relevant items from a range of institutions to illustrate her journey.
The exhibition will include paintings of Ms Catchpole, her letters and items from her cell.
