An Ipswich man has been handed a suspended sentence for driving while disqualified and without third party insurance in Chelmsford.
Elisei-lonut Alexandru, of Wherstead Road in the Suffolk town, was caught driving his BMW in Chelmer Road in the Essex city on June 3.
The 21-year-old was handed a jail term of 18 weeks, suspended for 18 months, after admitting to two offences at Suffolk Magistrates' Court.
The court decided that the custodial sentence should be suspended because of Alexandru's youth and the fact that he needs guidance in the belief that with probation he has a realistic chance of rehabilitation.
The court also took into consideration that Alexandru is in employment supporting his wife and young child while the fact that he pled guilty was also considered.
He was also disqualified from driving for 18 months.
In terms of rehabilitation, Alexandru was instructed to comply with any instructions or participate in any activity when compelled by the responsible officer.
His guilty pleas were taken into account at sentencing.
