A motorcyclist has described life as an “absolute nightmare” after his new bike was stolen just three days after buying it.
Kieran Donnelly-Shard was relying on the bike to revive his independence after he was left seriously injured following a crash last year.
The motorcycle was parked and locked up in a communal car park at Pin Mill Close in Chantry when it was stolen on the morning of October 11.
Mr Donnelly-Shard, who lives by the car park, described the moment he realised it was gone as a “kick in the teeth”.
The Chantry resident said: “I bought it so I could get out on the road because I had a bad smash last year.
"I snapped my wrist and got nerve damage in my shoulder and thumb and then I had to shut down my motorbike shop and I’ve been struggling with daily life.
“So, I thought now I can actually use my clutch hand again I'll get a new bike, and now it’s just turned into an absolute nightmare.”
Mr Donnelly-Shard said he used to sell motorcycle trackers but the bike was taken before he got the chance to install one.
He explained how it had devasted his ambitions.
The 29-year-old said: “It’s not just about the bike going. The bike was about getting my freedom back.
“I sometimes just want to get out of the house and go somewhere quiet and I was trying to set up an orchard in Braintree but I can’t get there now.
“I could have gone back to doing mobile work, fixing bikes again but it’s all in the wind.”
The motorcycle, a black Lexmoto 125 EFi model, cost £600 and took Mr Donnelly-Shard three months of “scrimping and saving” to afford.
The bike’s registration is EG17 LDL and police have urged that anyone who has any information about the incident to contact Suffolk Police quoting crime reference 37/58097/24.
